The 11th annual Ota universal Ekiden
The 11th annual Ota universal Ekiden (road relay) / 第11回おおたユニバーサル駅伝大会
Ekiden is a relay race where team players wear a team sash and hand it to the next player.
We make one team of 10 people:
- 5 runners (a child, an adult, a senior, a person with special needs and an international guest)
- 5 students
Each participant walks, runs or uses a mobility device for 1 km.
After the competition, please enjoy lunch and stay for the attractions with all of the teams:
- origami / 折り紙 : the art of folding paper into various figures
- wanage / 輪投げ: throwing horseshoes at a target (pole)
Let’s enjoy an active day of cultural exchange!
Transportation expenses will be provided up to 1500 yen.
A lunch box and small gift will be provided.

Date: Sunday June 3, 2018 (rain or shine)
Event time: 9:00-14:00
Meeting time: 8:40
Meeting spot: ticket gate of Heiwajima station (Keikyu Line)
Fees: none, and transportation fee will be reimbursed up to 1500 yen, free lunch

TISA JEx is supporting this event, but the main organizer responsible for it is Edo会. Pronounced "edo-kai", it's an NPO (non-profit ogranization) for cultural exchange between residents of Ota-ku and foreigners. It organizes English classes for Japanese, and opportunities of foreigners to enjoy Japanese culture in Ota. http://edokai.jp/
